OLAS uses wearable tags to protect everyone on board, from a cordless alternative to the traditional kill cord to continuous crew monitoring and instant overboard alerts.

Overboard alarm & wireless kill cord
One system, two jobs. If anyone on board goes over, OLAS raises the alarm on the hub, your phone and the chart plotter. If it's the driver, it stops the engine too, with no cord tying them to the helm. For RIBs, powerboats, sailing yachts and family boats.

Engine cut-off is a legal requirement
Since 1 April 2021, operators of recreational boats under 26 ft with 3 hp or more must use an engine cut-off switch on plane, where one is fitted. Boats built from January 2020 must have one. OLAS Guardian is a wireless way to comply without being tethered to the helm.

FRANCE · DIVISION 240
New kill-switch rule from 2024
Under the arrêté of 11 October 2024, a kill cord must be worn whenever the engine is running. With an electronic kill switch and more than one person aboard, someone must stay at the helm.
Falls overboard are the second biggest danger a fisherman faces. A 2026 US Coast Guard casualty report found the skipper's cord lanyard was not normally used because it got in the way on deck, and said untethered cut-off systems are "particularly well-suited for nearshore and inshore fisheries."
