This week the OLAS mobile application has gone live on iTunes!
After a year and a half of development, trails, testing, modifications and additions the day finally came where you, me or anyone else with an iOS device can download the OLAS application.
There area few final tweaks which will be made over the coming weeks, prior launching the OLAS tags, so if you spot anything or have any comments please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On V.1 of the OLAS app you can enter your vessel information, use the current data page, simulate the man overboard alert pages including the auto populated VHF procedure using the red manual MOB button. Essentially you can do and see everything in action. For more information on the current data page and its uses check out my previous blog for a brief video.
The obvious and key components missing are the OLAS tags. Progress is going well and these will be available before the end of the month. When they are ready all you will need to do is simply open your app and turn the tag on to automatically sync the device.
We are also working hard developing the Android application. We have scheduled the release for the start of April and I will let you all know when it is on Google Play.
So all I can say now is get yourself or anyone you know onto the app store for a first glimpse of the OLAS app. Simply search 'OLAS' in the App store or click here.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments, please conatct me at email@example.com
All the best,
